The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam is counting down to their reopening with Maarten Baas his Analog Digital Countdown Clock. Wim Pijbes started the clock for the 99 day countdown that can be seen from the other side of the Museumplein.
The refurbishment and modernization by architects Cruz en Ortiz has taken 10 years and lots and lots of works by craftsmen and builders. This activity is reflected by the men in the clock that works hard to make it to this special moment on April 13th.
All world famous pieces like The Nights Watch by Rembrandt will be hauled into the museum while we count down the days, hours and minutes to go.
You can follow the count-down via Rijksmuseum.nl or see the start of the clock on the Dutch news channel NOS.
