During my internship at Den Herder Production House I was studying to be a furniture maker at the Hout & Meubileringscollege. I was looking for an internship at a company which produces modern furniture with untraditionally materials. Luckily Bas den Herder accepted me as an intern at the time they were experimenting with new materials in which they involved me very much. I helped designing an exposition and doing so I learned to understand how much work ik takes to get that all done. We had to make some kind of a scaffolding for a client in Los Angeles, it was very interesting to see how the communication between the company and the client was set up.
I was really suprised by the amount of ways they know to make all possible kinds of constructions. They are very innovative and by being here I learned to see and think beyond what I was taught at school. Now at the Design Academy it pays off to be a real advantage! I had a really good time and feld like part of the crew. I could recommend everybody to do an internship here and take a ride on the down hill board behind the quad!
